3 Simple & Affordable Temporary Indoor Shower Pan Stall Solutions

Materials Needed
Shower pan or Kiddie pool
Showerhead that can be attached to faucet
Shower curtains
Pop up tent (optional)
2 to 4 rods
Marine Shower Sump Pump ( two other options are water dispensers or a Wet Vac)
One 3 ft Tube Hose
Curtain clips
Adhesive Wall Hook for accessories and shower head
Instructions
Install large rods. Place the two large rods parallel to each on your bathroom walls. Distance between the two should be about 3 feet or less from each other.
Align smaller rods with tape. The two smaller rods sit on top of the larger rods to form a square. The 4 rods should look like the pound symbol (#).
Hang curtains. Use curtain clips to hang up curtains onto the rods. The curtain should be shaped into a square enclosure due to the square frame (#) built from the rods. Decide if you need 1 or 2 opening entries to enter the curtain. Suggested location of entry: In front the sink (for the shower head placement), and an entry on the left or right side of wall depending on the layout of the bathroom.
Popup Tent (Optional)
Put up the tent and use a safety pin to attach shower curtains to tent. Place pan or kiddie pool inside tent and put curtains inside. Locate the best location to place showerhead on tent. We chose the roof of the tent. We cut the roof and use a string and clothes clips to attach it to the tent.
Install shower head sticker. Decide how high on the wall you would need to install the shower head. Apply the adhesive wall hook sticker. Read the instructions the hook came with. Recommended test: Enter the pan or pool before turning on water to get a realistic perception on how you the shower will function. Visualize yourself showering.
Apply shower head. Place shower head on the adhesive wall hook and connect the other end to the faucet sink.
Set up Marine Shower Sump Pump ( if using a water dispenser or a Wet Vac please scroll further down to see instructions). Attach the 3 feet tube to the pump and place the other end in the shower pan or kiddie pool. Cut the tubes to desired length if needed.
Test the shower but first set the water temperature. To do this, disconnect the showerhead hose from the faucet, and set desired temperature. Reconnect hose.
Turn on the Marine Shower Pump. Check if all the water is being collected and pumped out of the pan or pool at a decent rate before you shower. Lower the water pressure if pan is being filled up too fast. Look for any leaks on floor, or water escaping from shower pans or curtains.
Important Note: It is not recommended to pump water into a toilet tank mainly because toilets can break from hot water. Toilets are designed for cold water only.
Add your necessities. If you have bathroom countertop space or a towel rod you can place shower accessories needed on it, and once all is clear, enter and begin showering.
Other Options
If you don’t want to use a Marine shower pump (which is honestly the best option) two other methods you can use are water dispensers or a Wet Vac. These two options are a bit difficult but it still works.
Since steps 1 to 4 remain the same. We will give the instructions for each method after step 5.
Water Dispenser Option
Materials Needed
All the materials listed above remain the same except the Marine Shower Pump.
Additional materials needed are:
Shower caddy
4 water dispensers
(4 to 5) 9 feet tubes
Pole (optional)
6. Set up water dispensers in shower caddy. The water dispener tubes should be attached before placing them in the shower caddy. Attach the other end of the 9 feet tubes in the shower pan or kiddie pool. Cut the tubes to desired length if needed.
7. Test shower, but first set the water temperature. To do this, disconnect the showerhead hose from the faucet, and set desired temperature. Reconnect hose.
8. Turn on the water dispensers. Check that the tube is collecting the water out of the pan or pool at a decent rate before you shower. Lower the water pressure if pan is being filled up too fast. Look for any leaks on floor, or water escaping from shower pans or curtains. Important Note: It is not recommended to dispense water into a toilet tank mainly because toilets can break from hot water. Toilets are designed for cold water only.
9. Add your necessities. If you have bathroom countertop space or a towel rod you can place shower accessories needed on it.
10. Begin showering. And remember to monitor how long you shower. A low water flow should give you a 5 minute shower.
Wet Vac Option
Materials Needed
All the materials listed above remain the same except the Marine Shower Pump.
Additional materials needed:
Wet Vac preferably 10 gallons
6. Set up Wet Vac. Tape the tube in the shower pan or kiddie pool. This may be tricky, you might have to come up with a different tool to secure it. If you can’t find a way, the tube can be held by another person while you shower.
7. Test the shower but first set the water temperature. To do this, disconnect the showerhead hose from the faucet, and set desired temperature. Reconnect hose.
8. Turn on the Wet Vac. Check that the Wet Vac is collecting the water out of the pan or pool before you shower. Keep the water pressure pool to avoid filling up the Wet Vac too fast. Look for any leaks on floor, or water escaping from shower pans or curtains. Important Note: It is not recommended to empty the collected water into a toilet tank mainly because toilets can break from hot water. Toilets are designed for cold water only.
9. Add your necessities. If you have bathroom countertop space or a towel rod you can place shower accessories needed on it.
10. Begin showering. And remember to monitor how long you shower when using a Wet Vac because it can overflow. A low water flow should give you a 5 minute shower. Empty the Wet Vac after showering.
